INFiN Statement on Nomination of Stuart Levenbach as CFPB Director

November 20, 2025, Washington, D.C. – INFiN, a Financial Services Alliance, issued the following statement regarding President Trump’s nomination of Stuart Levenbach as the next director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB):

“INFiN welcomes the nomination of Stuart Levenbach as the next director of the CFPB. With this nomination, we urge the administration to continue its meaningful progress toward improved regulatory clarity and the elimination of burdensome, unnecessary regulations. These steps are essential to enabling continued innovation across consumer financial services, and competition that meets consumer demand. We applaud and encourage the continuation of long-overdue efforts to rectify the CFPB’s history of unaccountability by reining in the unfair, politically motivated practices employed under previous directors, including the aggressive use of Civil Investigative Demands (CIDs) to target industries like ours.

“INFiN looks forward to engaging with CFPB leadership on these and other issues, to ensure a level regulatory playing field across consumer financial services that fosters a fair and competitive marketplace for consumers and providers alike.”
