FiSCA Names Aggie Clark, of Moneytree, Inc., as Financial
Service
Provider of the Year
Phoenix, AZ – The Financial
Service Centers of America (FiSCA) today recognized Aggie Clark,
President of MoneyTree, Inc., as its 2007 Financial Service Provider of
the Year. The award was presented during FiSCA’s 19th Annual
Conference and Exposition in Phoenix, AZ. Formerly known as the
“Check Casher of the Year” award, the new name better
reflects the wide array of financial services provided by the recipients
to their customers.
“Aggie Clark represents everything that is good
and positive about our industry,” said Gary Dachis, Chairman of
FiSCA. “She manages a phenomenally successful and fast-growing
business and gives generously of her time and expertise to her
colleagues throughout the industry while at the same time serving as a
textbook example of what it means to be a good corporate
citizen.”
Under her leadership, MoneyTree has consistently won
FiSCA’s coveted Activa Award, given in recognition of those member
companies that go above and beyond when it comes to giving back to the
community. This year, MoneyTree won an Activa Award for its support for
Nevada Partners Wealth Building Center which is helping individuals
develop financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.
MoneyTree started in 1983 with a single location in
Renton, WA. Currently, the company has more than 125 branches open in
Washington, Idaho, southern California, Nevada and Colorado with more
than 1,200 employees. Aggie has been instrumental in its growth. She was
named president of the organization earlier this year.
“Part of what makes Aggie such a worthy
recipient is the fact that she has demonstrated true leadership, not
just within her own company but for the entire industry,”
continued Dachis. “She serves on the FiSCA Board of Directors and
as President of the California Financial Service Providers Association.
In those capacities, she has helped the entire alternative financial
services industry to flourish. For example, she
“quarterbacked” our industry’s aggressive response to
a recent marketing campaign in San Francisco that sought to hurt our
industry by urging customers to use “traditional” financial
institutions. She is a real leader, and we are fortunate to have her so
actively involved in our association and in our industry.”
FiSCA, founded in 1987, is the national trade
association for more than 6,000 individual financial service centers
across the United States. FiSCA members provide a wide variety of
financial services and products to their communities, including check
cashing, money orders, money transfers, and electronic bill payment
services, automatic teller machine access, government benefit and
payroll payments, payday advances, electronic tax preparation, prepaid
debit cards, deposit acceptance services, public transportation fare and
token sales, motor vehicle license plate and title distribution, postage
stamp sales and numerous other services. For more information, please
