The FiSCA National Scholarship Program is available to benefit
deserving college-bound high school seniors from families in areas
served by its members. Funding for the National Scholarship
Program is provided by voluntary contributions from FiSCA members and
affiliate members, including MoneyGram International and Western
Union.
The FiSCA National Scholarship Program awards cash grants of at least
$2,000 to two students selected from each of five geographic regions
across the nation. Criteria is based on academic achievement, leadership
skills in school and the community, perseverance in the face of
significant obstacles, and an essay written expressly for the
competition.
FiSCA has awarded more than $660,000 in scholarship awards
to 290 deserving students from across the country since the
inception of the program in 1999. In 2011, $68,000 in scholarships was
