ACE's Eric Norrington Named Check Casher of the Year

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – Eric Norrington, Vice
President of Communication & Government Relations for Ace Cash
Express Inc., was named “Check Casher of the Year” by the
Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) and Cheklist magazine.
Norrington was awarded for has many years of service to the industry,
his dedicated commitment to FiSCA as a board member and committee leader
and for his outstanding contributions to several prominent association
and industry projects.
“Eric Norrington is a leader and innovator in our
industry and very deserving of this award,” said Gary A. Dachis,
chairman of FiSCA. “Eric is a driving force in the industry
and the association. His leadership has benefited our members, and
ultimately, our customers.”
In his capacity as VP of Communications & Government Relations
for ACE, Mr. Norrington supervises all of the public relations,
governmental and legislative matters for the company.
Eric has been with ACE for 11 years. During that time he has seen ACE
grow from 250 stores in 8 states to over 1200 stores in 37 states. Prior
to joining ACE Eric spent 17 years with The Southland Corporation where
he managed advertising and public affairs for the North American
7-Eleven store chain.
In addition to serving on the board of FiSCA, Eric also serves on the
board of Financial Service Centers of Florida and is the Treasurer of
the Texas Association of Check Cashers.
A native of New York City, Eric lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife
and two children.
